Tawny Owl (Strix aluco)

I can hearTawny Owls calling almost every night but actually spotting one is a completely different matter! I had to wait
until January 2013 when I finally saw my first tawny perched in a tree - in the middle of London of all places! The male tawny was roosting in an old beech tree at Hyde Park but woke up, started preening and then looked right at me. Magic!
