Pied Flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca)

The Pied Flycatcher is a very beautiful little passerine. Sadly, this amber-listed species no longer breeds in the Southeast of England so the only way to see a 'pied fly' is on migration. In April 2013, a young male stopped off at Dyke Road Park in Brighton for a few days. I had amazingly close views of this little beauty and watched him catching flies for two hours. Absolutely wonderful!
